Hello! I’m a creative leader, design educator and MBA candidate with a super power for finding a light in the dark. As a designer of strategies, stories, products and experiences, my career has been about making and directing creative work in the media, technology and entertainment industries. For more than 15 years, I’ve helped grow businesses, tell stories, engage audiences and win awards by building teams and bringing big ideas to life. If you’d like to talk or work together, please get in touch.

the details

Currently I’m the creative director at Ad Age, where I arrived at the end of 2014 with a mandate to help breathe some life back into a trade brand that had become staid. Prior to that, I created and sold editorially-led products at the pioneering digital agency Nomad Editions, which devised content and strategy for brands seeking to connect with burgeoning mobile audiences. Nomad counted pharmaceutical, luxury, auto, food and packaged goods marketers among its clients.

My academic career has recently involved studying for my Executive MBA in Creative Leadership with the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. I’ve also started collecting some of my writings related to those studies in a blog at Berlinern. Beyond that, my academic pursuits include teaching various communications design courses at Pratt Institute, where I also completed my undergrad.

In the heady days of magazine publishing, my career was designing work for a number of major consumer magazines, including Rolling Stone, Elmore, Discover, Us Weekly, The New York Observer, InTouch, Life & Style and Closer.

My first career adventure began as a tech specialist for content marketing firm Hammock, which quickly drafted me into web design during the early dot-com days. Although Brooklyn is now home, I have lived in Nashville (where I grew up) and Berlin, Germany.
